Saujana or 'M—Tech City' is an up and coming development located near the heart of Kuala Lumpur, designed to be a sustainability focused hub for Malaysia's blossoming technology industry. In order to communicate the client's vision in an impactful and concise manner, Cox Architecture was contacted to provide graphic design assistance and planning for a printed pitch document to be presented to the Saujana team for consideration.
The document design was informed by balancing the modern, future focused direction of the development's architecture with the sustainability related considerations of the project. A geometric leaf shape was utilised throughout the document for text boxes, image containers and as a spot UV embellishment on the front cover. This reflected the environmental emphasis while also complementing the curvature present in the architecture. These curves were also evident in the letterforms of Good Type Foundry's Tekno typeface, which was utilised for headings and key information and also helped promote a futuristic aesthetic.
Due to the intended prestige of the development, the pitch document was housed in a Racing Green G.F Smith cover which featured a gold foil variant of the internal cover design. Time restrictions on the project necessitated the use of a spiral bound print, however, this enabled the choice of a gold coil to match the foil for a more cohesive look.
